Beerburrum Landscape Intent

Village Building Company were looking for a design that would accentuate and protect the native flora and fauna of their property at Beerburrum, as well as integrating the built and external environments.

THG ‘s Landscape Architects were able to create a space that took into consideration street locations, feature trees and plants that complimented the urban structure whilst being native and adaptable to typical South East Queensland conditions. The Landscape Design Intent for the proposed reconfiguration of lot

Understanding the people who will live, work and play in area was also a major consideration for THG.Integrating a pedestrian bikeway and an esplanade walk through the proposed urban layout not only met requirements by the Sunshine Regional Council’s Planning Scheme, but provided a space for the community to interact, as well as encouraging exercise and activity. These walkways feature protected vegetation and emphasise the cultural heritage of the site.

Water continues to be an important issue for South East Queensland, and THG were able to integrate into the landscape design a plan for using treated water from the on-site sewer plant for irrigating the plants and turf.
