Over 50’s Lifestyle Villages - Gorlicks Road, Eagleby and Bethania

THG’s work on projects at Gorlicks Road, Eagleby and Bethania Relocatable Home Parks presented a unique challenge – how do you give a space a sense of permanency when the structures that line the streets are not?

The goal of the client was to create an environment where retirees could lease a parcel of land, place a re-locatable home on it, without dipping substantially into their savings.

THG saw the key to creating this sense of permanency as crafting well-designed collective spaces – swimming pools, bowling greens, restaurants and lifestyle hubs. By combining THG’s services in landscape design, surveying and development planning, considerable time and effort was put into the design of these public places, to foster a sense of community.

The Eagleby site is located adjacent to sensitive billabong and wetland areas. THG’s concept for the development has embraced this proximity and provided attractive community facilities overlooking this environmental asset.

The Bethania site is located on the shores of the Logan River, in Gold Coast’s fast growing northern suburbs. The concept includes significant open space areas overlooking the River, with residential allotments ranging between 200 and 250 square metres in area.
